Wabash opened the home portion of its 2011-2012 season with a 173-121 victory over Rose-Hulman. The Little Giants claimed eight individual and two relays victories in the meet.

The quartet of
Aaron Troyer,
Steve Batchelder,
Carter Adams, and
Alex Beck got things started for Wabash with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The foursome finished with a time of 1:39.47.
David Phillips was also a double winner in the backstroke and grabbed a first in the individual medley for three individual victories. He claimed first place in the 100 backstroke (54.75) and the 200 backstroke (1:56.10) before posting a winning time of 2:02.53 in the 200 IM. Wabash also took second place in both backstroke races.
Charles Williams nabbed the second spot in the 100 back (56.70), while Troyer finished second in the 200 back (1:58.98).
Andy Chorpenning followed with the first of his two individual victories. He won the 1000 free with a time of 10:24.69 before taking a first in the 500 free later in the day with a time of 5:02.45.
Matt Fouts finished third in the 1000 free (10:56.64), while
Adam Barnes grabbed second place in the 500 free (5:12.61).
Logan Falley was third in the 500 free (5:21.01).
Diver
Jacob Anderson also claimed two individual wins for Wabash on the diving boards. He won the one-meter competition with a score of 174.85 after taking the three-meter title with a score of 181.90.
Batchelder added an individual victory in the 200 freestyle (1:49.61), with Adams taking second in the same race (1:49.95).
Williams, Batchelder,
Alex Beck, and Phillips closed out the meet with a win in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:21.00.
Batchelder also took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.50). Troyer added a second-place finish in the 50 free (22.67), while Beck was second in the 100 free (50.28). Adams scored a second place finish in the 100 fly (54.49) with Troyer grabbing third place (55.78).
Paul Buescher was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.96).
Alex Hawkins finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:05.27), while Chorpenning took third place (2:07.47).
The Little Giants return to action this Wednesday night in Greencastle, Indiana when Wabash will swim a dual meet against DePauw University. The meet begins at 7 p.m. and is part of a week of various competitions against the Tigers leading up the 118th Monon Bell Classic on Saturday afternoon.
