INDIANAPOLIS — Wabash College sophomore Ryan West opened competition Wednesday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, competing in the 200-yard individual medley at the IU Natatorium.
West posted a time of 1:54.92 in the morning preliminary heats but did not advance to the evening finals. The top 16 finishers in the prelims qualified for the championship and consolation finals.
West is scheduled to return to the pool Friday for the 100-yard backstroke, where he is seeded 31st with an entry time of 49.27. He will also compete Saturday in the 200-yard backstroke, entering as the 11th seed with a time of 1:46.42.
Preliminary heats are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. each day, with finals set for 6 p.m.
