Wabash College sophomore
Ryan West continued his assault on the Little Giants' swimming and diving record book Sunday, breaking his own 10-day-old school record in the 100-yard backstroke at the Wabash Last Chance Meet at the Crawfordsville High School Aquatics Center.
West touched the wall in 49.27 seconds to eclipse the 49.51 mark he produced at the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships two weeks earlier. The swim also met the NCAA Division III "B" cut qualifying standard.
Wabash recorded 14 personal-best performances and six season-best times at its final regular-season competition.
Aidan Mason posted a personal-best time of 1:01.37 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Owen Thomas placed second in the preliminaries of the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 22.35.
Michael Cruzado added a season-best effort of 22.72 to finish fourth.
Mark Berger recorded a personal-best swim of 22.99, while
Andres Tejada (23.68), MJ Burley (24.04),
Sidney Thomas (24.08) and
Aidan Gubbins (24.15) also turned in personal-best times.
Gubbins won the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal-best time of 1:02.47, and Burley finished second with a personal-best mark of 1:04.07.
Nicholas Plumb delivered a personal-best swim of 4:41.93 to win the 500-yard freestyle.
Quinn Sweeney produced a personal-best time of 46.13 to capture the 100-yard freestyle title.
Carter Ramsey finished third with a personal-best mark of 49.38, while Burley added a season-best time of 51.09.
Ramsey placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 1:48.48. Tejada added a season-best swim of 1:53.15 to finish third. Berger recorded a personal-best time of 1:00.13 in the 100-yard individual medley.
The 2025-26 season concludes with the NCAA Division III National Championships scheduled for March 18-21 in Indianapolis.
