Wabash swimming captured four first-place finishes and produced seven season-best times in Friday night's 172-116 loss at Rose-Hulman.
Aaron Troyer scored a first-place result in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.42.
Jack Belford won the 500 freestyle by turning in a season-best time of 4:53.01.
Carter Adams picked up a victory in the 200-yard individual medley by finishing in 2:01.64, also the quickest time of the season.
Elliot Johns won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.39. Adams took second place by touching the wall in 1:49.89, while
Joel Paquin touched third in 1:50.44. Adams also posted a season-best time with a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly (53.78).
Belford added a second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle by finishing in 10:07.25 for a season-best time. Arthur Granados finished third in that race with a time of 10:16.47. Belford also finished second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.97.
Chris McGue posted a time of 22.58 to take second in the 50 free. His timewas the best by a Wabash swimmer this season. Johns picked up a third in the 100 free with a season-best time of 49.03.
Troyer's time of 54.35 was good for second place in addition to being the best time by a Little Giant swimmer this season.
Jake Childress finished third (54.44).
Josh Bleisch took second place with a season-best time of 1:02.40 in the 100-yard breaststroke, while teammate
Steve Batchelder grabbed third place (1:02.86). Batchelder scored a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a top time for Wabash of 2:18.64. Bleisch added a third-place finish in the event (2:20.66). Batchelder closed out the individual portion of the meet by finishing third behind Adams and Tai Enrico from Rose in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.42.
Childress, Bleisch, Adams, and Batchelder combined to finish second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:39.55. The 400-yard medley relay team of Belford, Johns, McGue, and Troyer took second place with a time of 3:18.01.
Wabash returns to action Wednesday when the Little Giants compete against arch-rival DePauw at the Class of 1950 Natatorium at 7 p.m.
