Wabash Drops NCAC Tourney Opener to Wittenberg

Wabash entered the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament as the five seed, and will have the opportunity to finish no better than fifth after losing its opening match of the two-day event 5-1 to fourth-seeded Wittenberg.

Daniel Delgado and Nate Koelper earned the only victory for the Little Giants by scoring a 9-7 win at number two doubles in the Saturday afternoon match. Wade Miller and Peter Gunderman fell 8-5 at number one doubles, while Evan Bayless and Ian Leonard lost 8-6 at number three doubles. Delgado, Gunderman, and Bayless each lost in two sets in singles play.

The Little Giants will face the loser of the Kenyon versus Ohio Wesleyan University match in the consolation bracket on Sunday at 9 a.m. Kenyon is the top-seeded team in the men's tournament, while Ohio Wesleyan is the eight seed.
