Netters Fall 8-1 to Earlham

Junior Wade Miller forced a third set in his number one singles match Wednesday night.

A brilliant rally in doubles' play scored the only team point for Wabash Wednesday evening in the Little Giants' 8-1 home loss to Earlham College.

Daniel Delgado and Mark Troiano overcame a 7-4 deficit, winning three of the next four matches to force a tiebreaker. The Wabash duo won that game 7-5 to take a 9-8 victory at number one doubles.

Wade Miller forced three sets against Anton Bartashevich at number one singles. Miller lost the opening set 7-6 (8-6) before rallying for a 6-2 win in the second. He lost the third set 6-2. Delgado fell 7-5, 7-6 (9-7) in his number two singles match.

Earlham (5-0) picked up straight sets victories in the remainder of the singles' matches after taking two of the three doubles' contests.

Wabash (3-4) returns to action Saturday with a pair of home matches against Monmouth College (9 a.m.) and Westminster College (4 p.m.)
