Tennis Wins 5-1 in Semis at Oberlin, Plays for Fifth Place Sunday

Wade Miller picked up a three-set win in singles to help Wabash to a 5-1 win at Oberlin in the NCAC Tennis Championship Tournament.

Wabash avenged an early-season loss at Oberlin with a 5-1 victory over the Yeomen in the semifinals of the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference Tennis Championship Tournament Saturday afternoon. The Little Giants face Allegheny in Sunday's finals.

The Little Giants swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead in the match. Wade Miller and Daniel Delgado scored an 8-3 victory at number one doubles. Mark Troiano and Nate Koelper won 8-4 in the second flight, while Ian Leonard and Drew Sawyer took a 9-7 victory at third doubles.

Miller battled to a three-set victory at number one singles, winning 6-1, 2-6, 6-3. Troiano wrapped up the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at number three singles.

Wabash lost 5-4 at Oberlin earlier in the season. The Little Giants' match versus Allegheny is slated to start at 1 p.m.
