Wabash Tennis Takes Road Victory at Illinois Wesleyan

Nate Koelper won his singles match and combined with Ian Leonard to help Wabash to a 7-2 win Tuesday night at Illinois Wesleyan.

Wabash won five of seven contested matches Tuesday evening to earn a 7-2 victory at Illinois Wesleyan.

Nate Koelper and Ian Leonard combined for an 8-1 win at number two doubles to start the scoring for the Little Giants. Mark Troiano picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number two singles. Koelper scored a straight-sets victory at number three singles (6-4, 6-1), while Leonard earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at number four singles.

Drew Sawyer picked up his first career varsity win in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 contest at number five singles.

Nick Manaudo played at number six singles but the match was uncontested by the Titans. Sawyer and Phil Kubisz were scheduled to play at number three doubles, but also faced no challengers from IWU (4-6).

Wabash (12-8) will participate in the two-day North Coast Athletic Conference/Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Challenge beginning this Friday at Hope College.
