Wabash split two matches Saturday at the Collett Tennis Center to begin the home portion of the 2014 schedule. The morning match was decided in the final pairing with Oberlin College taking a 5-4 win. Wabash cruised to a 9-0 victory over Lake Forest College in the evening.

The Little Giants began the non-conference competition versus Oberlin with two doubles victories.
Wade Miller and Michael Makio took an 8-6 win at number one doubles over Callan Louis and Charlie Marks.
Mark Troiano and Mazin Hakim defeated Jerey Lichtmacher and Ian Paik at number three doubles by a score of 8-4.
Nate Koelper gave Wabash a 3-1 lead in the team scoring with his 6-4, 7-5 victory at number three singles over Soren Zeliger. The Yeomen responded with three consecutive wins to take a 4-3 lead before Makio tied the score, winning 6-2, 6-4 versus Marks in the second singles flight. Oberlin captured the final singles match to win the team competition.
Wabash (2-2) scored three victories in doubles play against Lake Forest. Miller and Makio scored an 8-2 victory at number doubles. Koelper and Troiano combined for an 8-6 win in the second doubles flight. Mazin Hakim and Nathan Neal took the third doubles match by a score of 8-4.
Miller opened singles play with a straight sets 6-1, 6-2 in in the first flight. Makio won 6-2, 6-3 at number two singles, with Koelper winning 7-6 (4), 6-3 at number three singles. Troiano picked up a 6-0, 6-3 win in the fourth flight. Hakim won 6-3, 6-3 at number five singles. Neal played a pro set at number six singles, posting an 8-4 victory.
Wabash will play the College of Wooster and Elmhurst College at home next Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
