Tennis Wins Twin Tuesday Matches in Florida

Wabash came back from its first loss in Florida Monday to capture a pair of victories Tuesday afternoon in Orlando.
 
The Little Giants scored a decisive 7-2 win over the College of Wooster in the first session before battling to a 5-4 victory over Oglethorpe in the nightcap.
 
Wabash scored a pair of doubles victories in the opening round against the Scots. Daniel Delgado and William Reifeis recovered from their first loss of the season at number one doubles Monday against the University of Texas at Tyler to earn an 8-5 win against Wooster (3-2) Tuesday. Michael Makio and Mark Troiano combined for an 8-4 win in the second doubles flight.
 
Makio added a straight sets victory (6-4, 6-4) at number two singles. Troiano won 6-4, 6-0 in the third singles flight, while Reifeis posted a three-set win (4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (2)) at fourth singles. Graham McMullen added a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (5) at fifth singles. Nicholas Pollock picked up the final win with a 6-1, 7-5 score in his sixth singles flight.
 
Delgado and Reifeis won 8-1 at number one doubles against the Stormy Petrels (2-4) in the final match. Troiano and Makio scored an 8-3 at two doubles. Troiano earned a 6-3, 7-6 (1) win at third singles, while Reifeis won 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth singles flight. Pollock cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win in the sixth flight.
 
Wabash plays its final Florida match Wednesday against SUNY Oneonta at 11:30 a.m.
