Tennis Ends Regular Season Facing National-Ranked Ohio Programs

Wabash closed out the tennis regular season with a pair of Saturday matches in Ohio. The Little Giants lost at Denison 7-2 in the morning, followed by a 9-0 loss to Kenyon in the afternoon.
 
Wabash scored two singles victories against the 35th-ranked Denison team. Michael Makio picked up his 18th win of the season at number two singles with a three-set 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 victory over Casey Cempre. Senior Mark Troiano scored an identical 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win at number three singles for his 19th victory of the year.
 
The Little Giants were unable to scratch out a point against the ninth-ranked Kenyon team in the afternoon. Troiano forced a third set against the Lords' Robert Turlington before falling 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 at third singles.
 
The loss to Denison dropped Wabash to third in the North Coast Athletic Conference West Division with a 2-2 record heading into the conference tournament, which begins this Friday at Kenyon.
