The Wabash tennis team took advantage of warmer weather and played a pair of home matches outside Saturday. The Little Giants lost the opener to Kalamazoo 7-2 before defeating Hanover 8-1.

The Little Giants jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles play over Hanover with victories by
Michael Makio and
William Reifeis at number one doubles (8-1) along with an 8-6 victory by
Mazin Hakim and
George Go III in the third doubles flight.

Wabash (11-9) swept the singles matches against the Panthers (4-4). Makio scored a 6-0, 6-2 win in the first singles flight shortly after Reifeis swept his opponent 6-1, 6-1 at number two singles.
Jordan Greenwell earned a 7-5, 6-2 win at third singles.
Kirill Ivashchenko picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win in the fourth singles flight.
Nicholas Pollock cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win in the fifth flight, while Hakim completed the sweep with a 6-1, 7-5 straight-sets win at sixth singles.

Reifeis and Greenwell earned the only wins for Wabash against the 38
th-ranked Kalamazoo squad (8-3). Reifeis took a 6-1, 6-3 straight-sets win at number two singles. Greenwell battled back from a 2-6 loss in the opening set at third singles to force a tiebreaker with a 7-6 victory in the second set. The freshman dominated the tiebreaker, winning 10-1.

Wabash travels to Wisconsin next weekend for matches against Edgewood College and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
