The Wabash tennis team lost its opening matches of the spring break trip to California.
 
The Little Giants lost to a pair of nationally-ranked programs --- 8-1 to 14^th-ranked University of Redlands and 7-2 against 32^nd-ranked Christopher Newport.
 
Wabash opened at Redlands, picking up a victory at number one doubles. Michael Makio and William Reifeis scored an 8-6 victory to improve to 9-1 for the season. The duo added another win at one doubles by a score of 8-6 versus Christopher Newport. Kiril Ivashchenko forced three set at number four singles in his match against CNU. The sophomore won 0-6, 6-4, 10-6.
 
The Little Giants (8-5) continue their west coast trip Wednesday with a match at Caltech.
