The Wabash tennis team opened the spring portion of its season Saturday with two victories. The Little Giants knocked off Augustana 8-1 in the morning before sweeping Lake Forest 9-0 in the nightcap.

William Reifeis reunited with his high school doubles partner,
Patrick McAuley, to open competition with an 8-4 win over Augustana at number one doubles.
Michael Makio and
Jordan Greenwell earned the first point for the Little Giants against Augustana with an 8-4 victory at number two doubles, while
Andrew Denning and
Mazin Hakim won 8-7 (5) in a tiebreaker at number three doubles.

Makio began singles action with a 6-4, 6-4 victory in the second flight. McAuley picked up a 7-6 (4), 6-0 win at third singles. Greenwell scored a 6-0, 6-1 victory at fourth singles.
Nicholas Pollock won the fifth singles flight 6-0, 6-2.
Andrew Denning completed the win with a 6-1, 6-0 decision at sixth singles.

Reifeis and McAuley won their number one doubles match 8-0 to start the team win against Lake Forest in the second match of the day. Makio and Greenwell won the second doubles flight 8-2. Denning paired with
George Go III to win 8-1 at number three doubles.

Reifies won the first singles flight by scores of 6-3, 6-0. Makio took number two doubles 6-1, 6-1. McAuley rallied in three sets to win 2-6, 7-6 (5), 10-2 in his third singles match. Greenwell won 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles. Pollock scored a 6-0, 6-2 win in the fifth singles flight. Hakim finished the perfect team score with a three-set 6-2, 1-6, 12-10 victory in the sixth singles showdown.

Wabash (2-0) travels to Ohio next weekend to take on Oberlin College Saturday before heading to Kenyon College for a Sunday match.
