William Reifeis helped Wabash to a 6-3 victory Friday evening over Ohio Wesleyan University.

Tennis Takes Down OWU 6-3

Wabash battled Ohio Wesleyan and the elements on a cold Friday evening to claim a 6-3 victory at home.

The Little Giants scored two points in doubles play to open the match. William Reifeis and Patrick McAuley started the day with an 8-4 victory at number one doubles. Mazin Hakim and Andrew Denning combined at number three doubles to earn a 9-8 win with a score of 7-4 in the tiebreaker.

McAuley cruised to victory in his fourth flight singles match, posting scores of 6-0, 6-1. Reifeis picked up a straight sets 6-3, 7-5 at number one singles. Michael Makio was in control of his number two singles match with a winning score of 6-1, 6-0. Jordan Greenwell captured the final team point with a 6-3, 6-1 win at number three singles.

Wabash (10-14) is back on the court Saturday morning against the College of Wooster. The match begins at 10 a.m. at the Collett Tennis Center.
