Liam Grennon and
Alvaro Alonso-Sanchez competed at the 2021 ITA Central Region Fall Tournament Friday in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Both players captured first-round singles victories.
Grennon opened play against Trey Kernan from Baldwin Wallace, advancing to the second round with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Grennon played second-seeded Timmy Cianciola from Denison in the second round and lost 6-0, 6-0 .
Alonso-Sanchez picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Holden Owens from Millikin. Alonso-Sanchez faced third seed Luis Andres Platas from Kenyon in round two, with the match ending in a 6-0, 6-1 loss for the Wabash junior.
Grennon and Alonso-Sanchez were also paired in the doubles bracket. The duo lost 8-3 in the first round to Daniel Gomez and Juan Segovia from Principia. The Wabash twosome faced the third-seeded doubles pair of Thomas Kallarakal and Platas in the consolation bracket. Grennon and Alonso-Sanchez were eliminated from the tournament with an 8-5 loss.
The ITA tournament is the final event of the Little Giants' fall season.
