Box Score The Wabash lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season Sunday in a 15-5 defeat at Hanover.
 
The Little Giants (3-1) held an early lead by scoring the only two goals of the first period. Caulin Fitzgerald scored the first tally off an assist from Ethan Stonis with five minutes remaining in the opening period. Anthony Nguyen added a goal with 2:50 left in the first off another assist from Stonis to put Wabash in front 2-0.
 
Hanover (1-2) answered with eight goals in the second period. AJ Shaheen picked up the lone goal for the Little Giants in the period. He ended a five-goal scoring run by the Panthers with a goal at the 6:04 mark of the period. Stonis picked up his third assist of the contest on the score.
 
Fitzgerald brought Wabash back to within four goals at 8-4 with his second score of the contest in the first five minutes of the third period. Stonis earned the assist once again. The Little Giants' final goal came late in the third period off another assist by Stonis for his fifth of the game. He passed to Jeremiah Eaton who scored to bring Wabash back to within four goals at 9-5. Hanover scored one final goal in the third period and five times in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
 
John Frey made 14 saves in goal for Wabash. He led the team with six ground balls. Joe Larue recorded three caused turnovers for the Little Giants, who finished with 10 as a team.
 
Wabash is scheduled to play Anderson University on Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. at Fischer Field.
