The Wabash College wrestling team finished 3-0 for the day at Sunday's Hilltopper Wrestling Duals hosted by West Liberty University. The Little Giants defeated Davis & Elkins 54-0, won 28-12 against Ohio Northern, and then wrapped up the day with a 28-16 victory over Mount Union.

Wabash swept the Davis & Elkins squad in the opening dual bouts.
James Day and
Andrew Punzalan each received forfeits at 125 and 133 pounds to give the Little Giants the early 12-0 lead.
Evan Burge scored the first on-mat victory for the Little Giants with a 10-0 major decision at 141 pounds.
Daniel Uribe received another forfeit at 149 pounds to put Wabash in front 22-0 through four bouts.

Jason Hood pinned his 157-pound opponent to add six more points to the Little Giants' team score.
Jesse Herrera picked up four points with an 11-3 major decision at 165 pounds.
Ray Arebalo scored a pin at the 3:40 mark of his 174-pound match, followed by a pin by
Sammy Saunders at 1:57 in the 184-pound bout.
Caden Friedt scored a 14-5 major decision in the 197-pound weight class contest, and
Titus Waters closed out the match with a pin at the 3:43 mark of his heavyweight bout for the 54-0 team victory.

Wabash, ranked 15th in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association dual-meet poll, defeated 22nd-ranked Ohio Northern 28-12 in the second round of competition. Day started the action with an 8-5 win in his 125-pound bout. Punzalan gave Wabash a 6-0 lead in the team scoring with his 1-0 victory at 133 pounds.
Blake McGee added a 16-0 technical fall at 141 pounds, and Uribe scored a 20-3 tech fall at 149 pounds to put the Little Giants in front 16-0.

Herrera picked up a 4-1 victory in his 165-pound match against Ohio Northern to keep Wabash in front 20-6 after the Polar Bears scored a pin at 157 pounds. Arebalo expanded the Little Giants' lead with an 8-7 victory at 174 pounds.
Chase Baczek earned a 5-1 win at 184 pounds ahead of a 5-3 victory by Waters at heavyweight to secure the 28-12 team win.

The Little Giants trailed Mount Union in the final match of the dual-meet invitational after losses in the first two bouts before McGee opened the scoring for Wabash with a 17-0 tech fall at 141 pounds. Uribe put the Little Giants up by a point at 8-7 thanks to his 13-7 win at 149 pounds. The Purple Raiders regained the lead with a victory at 157 pounds, but a pin by Herrara 1:29 into his 165-pound match. Arebalo earned an 18-0 tech fall at 174 pounds, and Baczek scored a 5-0 win at 184 pounds to put Wabash in front 22-10. Friedt pinned his 197-pound opponents before Mount Union closed the match with a pin for the 28-16 final in favor of the Little Giants.

Wabash will compete at the NWCA / United State Marine Corps National Dual Meet Championships hosted by the University of Northern Iowa on January 5-6.
