Wabash College wrestlers earned five top-six places and finished fifth out of 15 teams at Saturday's North Central College Wrestling Open in Naperville, Illinois.

Ray Arebalo each posted top-five efforts in their specific weight classes.

Uribe won three matches to capture second place in the 149-pound weight class. He started the tournament with a 13-3 major decision versus Josh Door from North Central. Uribe defeated Coe College's Dylan Grigsby in the quarterfinal round, then scored a 7-6 win in the semifinals against Cole Becker from Augsburg. A loss to Michael Petrella from Baldwin Wallace in the finals gave Uribe second place in the bracket standings.

Day posted four victories in the 125-pound weight class bracket. He opened the tournament with an 11-0 major decision over Gavin Jensen from Coe College, followed by a 7-6 win against Quintin Wolbert from Wisconsin-La Crosse. A 10-7 loss in the semifinal round sent Day to the consolation bracket, where he scored a 9-4 victory over Coe's Cade Hornback to advance to the finals. Day defeated Remington Bontreger from UW-La Crosse 10-6 to capture third place.

McGee earned fourth place in the 141-pound bracket with three victories in the day's competition. He scored a technical fall with a 15-0 win against Aidan Kelly from Baldwin Wallace. McGee defeated Robert Palmieri from Baldwin Wallace in the consolation third round after a quarterfinal loss, then picked up a 19-4 tech fall against Jake Penzato from Aurora University. Â

Smith placed fifth at 157 pounds with four wins in the bracket. He began the tournament with a 13-7 victory against Justin Gorman from Albion, then defeated Collin Mojena from North Central 11-0 for a major victory in the second round. A 4-3 win against Karsen Otis from Augsburg allowed Smith to advance to the semifinal round. Two losses in the next two matches put Smith into the fifth-place bout, where he was awarded the victory in no contest.

Arebalo also earned a fifth-place in his 174-pound weight class bracket. He opened the day with a 17-2 tech fall against Paul Kadlec from Joliet Junior College before scoring a 7-4 decision against Christian Komitas from Aurora. Arebalo bounced back from losses in the next two rounds to defeat Komitas for a second time in the finals to earn fifth place.

Wabash scored 100 total points to capture fifth place in the team standings. Augsburg won the team title with 180 points. North Central finished in second place (148.5 points), followed by Coe (138 points) and Baldwin Wallace (111 points). UW-La Crosse (96.5 points), Aurora (50 points), Carthage College (36 points), Albion (34.5 points), and Quincy College (19 points) rounded out the top ten teams in the standings.

Wabash will compete at the Hilltopper Duals in West Liberty, West Virginia, on December 17.
