The Wabash College swimming and diving team picked up seven wins out of 13 events at Saturday's Indiana DIII Invitational hosted by Rose-Hulman. The Little Giants placed third out of seven teams competing in the meet.
 
Quinn Sweeney picked up three individual wins for Wabash at the meet. He opened with a victory in the 200-yard butterfly with a winning time of 1:58.14. He scored a second win by finishing in first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.79. Ethan Johns placed third in the 100 free with a time of 49.50. Sweeney took the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly with a winning time of 52.89.  
 
Mason Gilliam captured the individual title in the 1000-yard freestyle by posting a time of 9:57.31. Nicholas Plumb placed fourth overall with a time of 10:26.74. Gilliam scored a second win in the 500-yard freestyle by finishing in  4:52.06.
 
Ryan West won two events for the Little Giants, starting with the 100-yard backstroke by touching the wall for the final time in 54.19. He added a victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a winning time of 1:56.71, finishing just ahead of Plumb in second place at 1:59.98. Nicholas Sommers place fourth in the 200 back with a time of 2:05.34. West also placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley by finishing in 2:02.00.
 
Alexander Arruza tied for second place in the three-meter diving event with a final score of 132.85. He scored a third-place finish on the one-meter diving board with a score of 159.15.
 
The quartet of West, Justice Wenz, Brody Page, and Johns swam to third place in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing in 1:39.45. Wabash closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Johns, Sweeney, Daniel Streeter, and Grayson Goff turned in a time of 3:14.95.
 
Wabash scored 573.5 points at the meet for its third-place finish. Rose-Hulman won the men's team competition with 724 points, followed by DePauw in second place with a score of 681.
 
The Little Giants open the dual-meet portion of the season next Friday night with a 7 p.m. contest at Rose-Hulman.
