The Wabash College wrestling team celebrated its Senior Day match with a 27-14 victory over the University of Chicago after honoring senior members

Chase Baczek,
Trescott Duffy, and
Mawuli Nevis Friday evening at Chadwick Court.

The Little Giants, ranked 24th in the latest dual-meet poll from The Open Mat, jumped out to a solid start with a 15-0 tech fall in the first period of the 125-pound match by
Andrew Punzalan.
James Day gave Wabash an 11-0 lead when he pinned Zack Parisi in 4:53 in the 133-pound bout.

Chicago closed the gap with a tech fall at 141 pounds and an 8-6 victory at 149 pounds before
Tim Smith responded with a pin at the 3:48 mark of his 157-pound contest.
Ayden Lutes followed with a 10-2 major decision at 165 pounds to put the Little Giants up 21-8.

Nevis scored a 7-2 win to boost Wabash to a 24-8 lead. The visiting Maroons picked up a 9-6 win at 184 pounds before Baczek earned a 5-1 victory at 197 pounds to wrap up the team win for Wabash. Chicago closed the night with a 2-1 win at 285 pounds for the 27-14 final.

Jaylen Young started the evening with a 13-3 major decision in a 174-pound extra non-scoring match.

Wabash returns to action on November 23 when the Little Giants compete at the Concordia University of Wisconsin Open.
