Game-Winning Field Goal Sends Wabash To 13-10 Loss In ForeverLawn Bowl

CANTON, Ohio -- A 38-yard field goal as time expired gave Hanover a 13-10 win over Wabash on Saturday afternoon at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

Wabash finished the season with an 8-3 record as did Hanover.

Xavier Tyler totaled 74 yards to lead the Little Giants' ground attack in the game, picking up 4.1 yards per carry along the way. Cole Dickerson also tacked on 43 yards and one touchdown on the ground, picking up 5.4 yards per carry.

Brand Campbell's most prolific target in the ballgame was Tim Miller, who caught four passes for 86 yards.

Brody Frey recorded four tackles, 0.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, and one interception.Gavin Ruppert led the Little Giants with 13 tackles.

The Little Giants forced one turnover in Saturday's contest, with Wabash turning that takeaway into seven points. The Wabash offense did a good job prolonging drives, converting on 41.2 percent of third-down attempts.

Defensively, Wabash held up fairly well against the Hanover offensive attack, holding the Panthers to 337 total yards.

Wabash got on the scoreboard first with 5:00 left in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.Hanover then cut into the Little Giants lead and made it a 7-3 game, but the Little Giants tacked on another score to extend the advantage to 10-3. Hanover added 10 more points to finish off the scoring, including the game-winning score after a missed field goal try by Wabash with 1:03 left in the game. The Panthers marched 51 yards on the final drive before kicking the game-winning 38 yard attempt.
