Box Score The Wabash College tennis teams opened the fall portion of its 2024 schedule at the two-day Warhawks Fall Tennis Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater on Friday and Saturday.
Three Little Giants earned third-place finishes in their individual singles draws.
Tharakesh Ashokar posted a pair of victories in the number-two draw for Wabash. He finished the tournament with a three-set 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (3) win to claim third place.
Rafael Rin scored a third-place finish in the number-three singles bracket. The sophomore picked up a first-round, straight-sets victory before earning a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the third-place match.
Samuel Soto Garcia placed third overall in the number-six singles draw. The freshman won 7-6 (4), 6-0 in his first collegiate match before taking third place in the bracket with a walkover.
Cole Shifferly finished fourth in the number-one singles draw. He advanced in the bracket with a walkover in his opening match for his lone win in the bracket.
Vittorio Bona added a fourth-place finish in the number-five singles bracket by scoring an opening-round 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Eduardo Werneck placed fourth in his bracket with a 6-1, 6-4 win in the tournament's first round.
Faustino Dimuro won 7-5, 6-3 in his number-eight singles draw opening match to finish in fourth place eventually.
Maksymilian Domanski scored two wins in the consolation portion of the number-four singles bracket.
Ashokar and Rin placed third at number-two doubles with a pair of 6-4 wins in the tournament. Shifferly and
Murilo Guarniari combined for a fourth-place finish in the number-one doubles draw. The duo earned a first-round 7-5 win in the bracket. Bona and Domanski finished seventh after earning a 6-4 win in the finals of the number-three doubles draw. Dimuro joined
Sam Dziadosz in the number-four doubles to earn a 6-2 victory in the consolation portion of the bracket to place seventh overall.
