LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Wabash College golf team overcame a slow start by shooting a five-over-par score of 293 in Saturday's second round of the Transylvania Fall Invitational to open the 2025-26 season.
Wabash began play Saturday morning with a 16-over 304 in the first round before trimming nine shots off its score over the next 18 holes. The Little Giants sit in seventh place out of 19 teams entering Sunday's final round of competition. McDaniel leads the field with a two-round total of 572 strokes to finish four under after 36 holes.
Senior Sean Bledsoe produced the best individual effort for Wabash through the first 36 holes, turning in a score of 145 (73-72) to finish one over and tied for 12th place out of 96 golfers. Freshman Leo Dellinger fired a one-under 71 in the second round to go with a 75 in the opening round for a total score of 146, tying for 15th place entering Sunday's final round.
Coen Bauschek is tied for 36th at 151 (75-76), while Liam McAllister is tied for 68th with a two-round total of 157 (83-74).
Sunday's final round begins at 8:30 a.m. at the University Club of Kentucky.
