Opening Notes
Wabash College opens the home portion of its 2025 football season Saturday when the Little Giants host Case Western Reserve University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Eastern Time at Frank Navarro Field at Little Giant Stadium.

Wabash enters the matchup with a 1-0 record after a 55-21 road victory at St. Norbert in last week's season opener. The Little Giants improved their all-time record to 726-404-59, ranking fifth in NCAA Division III history in victories and 15th in winning percentage at .635. Wabash and Notre Dame are the only programs in Indiana with more than 700 all-time wins. .

Series History
This will be the fifth meeting between the two programs with Wabash owning a 3-1 series record. The series dates back to 1948, when Wabash defeated Western Reserve University 20-6 in Crawfordsville. Western Reserve won the following year 13-7. The teams played a pair of NCAA playoff matchups in the late 2000s, with Wabash posting a 38-23 victory in 2007 and a dramatic 20-17 win in 2008 on a late touchdown pass.

Last Week's Win
Junior quarterback Brand Campbell threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns to lead Wabash past St. Norbert. He became the first Little Giant quarterback with four scoring passes in a game since Liam Thompson in 2023. Carson Chadd hauled in TD receptions of 63 and 7 yards, while Luke Adams and Konner Chase also scored on catches.

Running back Xavier Tyler opened the game with a 3-yard touchdown run, and Cole Dickerson added a 47-yard scoring run. The Little Giants also received a special teams boost when Gage Gulley blocked a punt and returned it 5 yards for a touchdown — the program's first blocked punt return for a score since 2013.
The Wabash defense held St. Norbert to 220 total yards, including 72 on the ground. Tony Flatt intercepted a pass and returned it 40 yards, while Jerry McBee collected a fumble recovery. Carson Foxen and Tanner Crouch led the team with five tackles apiece.

Key Players
Campbell completed 15 of 20 passes in the opener and currently ranks third nationally in passing efficiency (269.1). Tyler, a Second Team All-NCAC pick last season, rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown against St. Norbert. Chadd's two touchdown receptions tied him for eighth in Division III in scoring.

Linebacker Gavin Ruppert continues his climb up the Wabash career tackles chart. The senior enters Saturday with 267 career stops, just two shy of seventh place on the program's all-time list .

Scouting Case Western Reserve
Case Western Reserve opened its season last week with a 17-17 tie at Rowan in a game stopped in the third quarter due to severe weather. The Spartans were looking to end a four-game losing streak dating back to 2024. Their last victory came in October 2024 against Thiel College.

Sophomore running back Andy Kavcic paced the CWRU offense at Rowan with 60 rushing yards and three catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Aaron Filips added 236 passing yards and a score before leaving with an injury. Junior Sam DeTillio is listed as the starter for Saturday's game.

Defensively, the Spartans held Rowan to just 38 rushing yards on 19 attempts. Linebackers Daniel King and Tim Gonakis led the defense with six tackles each.

Head coach Greg Debeljak is 0-2 against Wabash, with both meetings coming in NCAA Division III playoff games in 2007 and 2008. Special teams coordinator Jeff Ramsey returns to Crawfordsville after six years as a Wabash assistant. His son, CJ, is currently the Little Giants' wide receivers coach.
