CONYERS, Ga. — The Wabash College golf team shaved 16 strokes off its opening-round score and moved into 11th place after 36 holes at the 2026 Discover DeKalb Emory University Invitational, contested Saturday at Cherokee Run Golf Club.
The Little Giants posted a two-round total of 638, improving from a first-round 327 to a 311 in the afternoon round on the par-72 layout.
Wabash's second-round improvement came behind more consistent scoring across its lineup, highlighted by freshman Leo Dellinger. Dellinger fired a 72 in round two after opening with a 75 to finish the day at 147 (+3), tied for 10th place individually in the 81-player field.
Senior Liam McAllister also showed a strong bounce-back effort, trimming seven strokes from his opening-round 85 to card a 78 in the second round. He sits at 163 (+19) entering Sunday's final round.
Freshman Finn Carteaux produced rounds of 82 and 80 for a 36-hole total of 162 (+18), while freshman Charlie Seaburg improved from an opening 85 to an 81 in round two to finish Saturday at 166 (+22).
Sophomore Mason Pierle added rounds of 79 and 82 to sit at 161 (+17), contributing to the Little Giants' team total.
The Little Giants sit just six strokes behind 10th-place Oglethorpe (B) heading into the final 18 holes.
Sewanee holds the team lead at 575 (291-284), six strokes ahead of both Huntingdon and host Emory, who are tied for second at 581.
Individually, Sewanee's Aidan Tudor and Emory's Kevin Mu share the 36-hole lead at 140 (-4).
The tournament concludes Sunday with the final round of 18 holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club.
