Sholar Earns Second Team All-America Honors in Discus at NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Wabash College senior Quinn Sholar opened the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday with another All-America performance, placing 15th in the discus throw.

The three-day championship meet is being held at Veterans Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Sholar fouled on his first two throws before recording a mark of 48.20 meters (158 feet, 2 inches) on his final attempt. He closed out the first flight in sixth place before finishing 15th overall after competitors in the second flight completed their throws, securing Second Team All-America honors.

Sholar returns to competition Friday in the shot put at 4 p.m. EDT. Wabash teammate Brock DeBello will compete in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash at 6:05 p.m. EDT.
