Six Wabash College student-athletes have been named to the 2026 Academic All-District Men's Track and Field and Cross Country Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
 
Senior Quinn Sholar, senior Haiden Diemer-McKinney, juniors Jacob Guse and Owen Smith, and sophomores Hugh Ford and Jack Huisden each earned recognition for their combined excellence in the classroom and in competition.
 
To be eligible, nominees must have at least a 3.50 GPA, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, and either rank in the top 50 in an individual track and field event within the region or place in the top 50 at the cross country regional meet.
 
Sholar, an art major from Indianapolis, earned Second Team All-America honors in the indoor shot put with a throw of 16.29 meters (13th place) and added Second Team All-America honors in the outdoor discus throw (15th place, 48.20 meters) and the shot put (15th place, 16.36 meters), and broke the school record in the indoor shot put and weight throw and the outdoor shot put. He was also named the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year after earning all-conference honors as the individual champion in the discus and shot put while also claiming individual indoor titles in the shot and weight throw.  Sholar was also a four-year starter on the Wabash College football team and earned Associated Press and D3football.com All-America honors as an offensive lineman.
 
Sholar competed in the shot put and weight throw during the indoor season and added the discus and hammer throw during the outdoor campaign. Sholar ranked third regionally and 10th nationally in the indoor shot put at 17.47 meters, and third regionally and 19th nationally in the indoor weight throw at 18.69 meters. Outdoors, he was third regionally and ninth nationally in the shot put at 17.84 meters, second regionally and 17th nationally in the discus at 51.77 meters, and fourth regionally and 23rd nationally in the hammer throw at 57.40 meters.
 
Diemer-McKinney, an economics major from Brownsburg, Indiana, ranked seventh regionally in the indoor 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.47 and 17th regionally in the mile run at 4:16.64. During the outdoor season, he ranked fifth regionally in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:52.67. Diemer-Mckinney captured all-conference honors with third-place finishes in the indoor 800-meter and mile runs and was part of the first-place distance medley and second-place 4x400-meter relay teams at the NCAC Indoor Championships. He was also a member of the Little Giants' cross country team.
 
Guse, a biochemistry major from Columbus, Indiana, competed in the shot put and weight throw indoors and added the discus and hammer outdoors. Guse ranked 46th regionally in the outdoor hammer throw at 46.73 meters.
 
Smith is a mathematics and computer science double-major from Lakeville, Indiana. The junior multi-event athlete competed in the 60-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles and heptathlon indoors before focusing on the 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles outdoors. Smith ranked 19th regionally in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles at 54.83.
 
Ford, a biochemistry major from Kalamazoo, Michigan, competed in the pole vault indoors and added the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and javelin outdoors. Ford ranked 32nd regionally in the indoor pole vault at 4.25 meters and 36th regionally in the outdoor pole vault at 4.32 meters.
 
Huisden, an economics major from Westfield, Indiana, competed in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles during the indoor season and the 400-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles outdoors. Huisden ranked 47th regionally in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles at 15.77.
 
The CSC Academic All-District Track and Field/Cross Country Team is part of the organization's Academic All-America program, which separately recognizes honorees in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. All-America honorees will be announced July 8.
