DeBello, Sholar, Williams Set To Represent Wabash At NCAA Outdoor Championships

Three Wabash College student-athletes will compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Freshman Brock DeBello, senior Quinn Sholar and senior Sly Williams will represent the Little Giants at the national meet. All three Wabash qualifiers also competed at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships earlier this year.

DeBello enters the outdoor championships with the sixth-fastest qualifying time in the men's 400-meter dash. The freshman earned his spot in the national field with a school-record time of 46.95 seconds.

DeBello will race in the third heat of the 400-meter dash preliminaries at 6:05 p.m. Central time Friday. The winner of each preliminary heat and the next six fastest times will advance to Saturday's final, scheduled for 3:20 p.m. Central time.

The national outdoor appearance continues an outstanding first season for DeBello, who earned All-America honors during the indoor season. He placed sixth in the finals of the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships to earn First Team All-America recognition.

Sholar qualified for the outdoor national championships in two throwing events. The senior enters the discus throw with the 17th-best mark in the field at 51.77 meters (169 feet, 10 inches). He also qualified ninth in the shot put with a top mark of 17.84 meters (58 feet, 6.5 inches).

Sholar will compete in the first of two flights of the discus throw at 3 p.m. Central time Thursday. He will return Friday to compete in the second of two flights of the shot put at 4 p.m. Central time.

Sholar also earned All-America honors during the indoor season. He placed 13th in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships to earn Second Team All-America recognition.

Williams qualified for the outdoor championships in the triple jump. The senior enters the national meet with the 22nd-best mark in the field after posting a qualifying leap of 14.64 meters (48 feet, 0.5 inches).

Williams will compete in the first of two flights of the triple jump at noon Central time Saturday. He also represented Wabash at the indoor national championships, placing 19th overall in the triple jump.
