Wabash To Play In Inaugural NABC Division III Tournament In Las Vegas As Part Of 2026-27 Schedule

Wabash College will be part of the inaugural National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III Tournament series during the 2026-27 basketball season as part of a schedule that features 10 home games.

The NABC announced the launch of the Division III Tournament series, with events scheduled for Las Vegas and San Antonio. Wabash will compete in the NABC Division III Tournament — Las Vegas presented by D3hoops.com, scheduled for Dec. 21-22 at a Las Vegas venue to be determined.

The Las Vegas tournament field includes Chicago, Elmhurst, Emory, Keene State, Randolph-Macon, Redlands, Trine, and Wabash. The eight-team field will be arranged into two four-team brackets, with each team guaranteed two games. Matchups, game times, ticket information, and additional event details will be announced at a later date.

"A core element of the NABC's mission is to advance the game of basketball across all levels of the sport," NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson said. "The NABC Division III Tournaments will provide players, coaches, and fans alike with a first-class event experience while introducing a series of marquee cross-region matchups to the DIII men's basketball landscape."

"I want to thank the NABC and Coach Mike McGrath of the University of Chicago for aggressively promoting and supporting Division III basketball," Wabash head basketball coach Kyle Brumett said. "It is a challenging time for college athletics, and Division III continues to follow through on the true form of the student-athlete. Putting together two in-season tournaments like this really showcases the best of what college basketball and college sports should provide for our students — high-level competition while being educated and prepared for long-term success through their college experience.

"The Las Vegas field is a who's who of Division III men's basketball. It includes eight great institutions committed to athletics and basketball, six coaches who have led their programs to the Final Four in the last five years, and programs that have combined for 25 20-win seasons over that time. These programs are winning with true student-athletes, multiple academic All-Americans, and teams built with high-character, committed, and competitive basketball players. This event will truly showcase the talent of our division and our sport.

"I am so excited that Wabash has had this kind of success and is recognized alongside these peer institutions. We are grateful for the invitation to compete in this inaugural event.
