Wabash captured 12 first-place finishes Friday night to defeat Illinois Wesleyan University 142-62 in swimming action at the Class of 1950 Natatorium.

The Little Giants opened the night with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.
Elliot Johns,
Josh Bleisch,
Aaron Troyer, and Zech Banks combined for a winning time of 1:39.09.
Adam Barnes,
Steve Batchelder, Brad Wise, and
Clayton Highum took second place by finishing in 1:44.46.
Andy Chorpenning won the mile swim, touching the wall in 17:21.51.
Joel Paquin scored a victory in the 200 freestyle with a season-best time of 1:47.84.
Carter Adams finished second with a season-tying best mark of 1:49.39.
Arturo Granados took third place (1:49.80).
Troyer,
Dylan Miller, and Barnes finished 1-2-3 in the 50 backstroke. Troyer won with a time of 25.32. Miller posted his best time of the season by finishing in 27.14. Barnes touched in 28.10.
Bleisch added a victory in the 50 breaststroke with a season-best effort of 28.19.
Matt Schramm took third place (29.90), while
Matt Fouts grabbed fourth place (30.99). Highum scored a second-place finish in the 100 fly with his best time of the season at 55.23. Johns scored a third-place finish (55.69), while
Jack Belford finished fourth (56.97).
Chris McGue won the 50 free by touching the wall in 22.49. Banks took third place (22.81), with Miller finishing fourth (22.88). McGue came right back with another victory, this time in the 100 free. He touched in 49.62, followed by Adams in second place with a time of 50.10. Johns won the 100 back (54.60). Miller finished second with a season-best time of 58.85. Banks finished third in the event with a time of 59.72.
Bleisch scored another victory in the 100 breaststroke with his best time of the season as 1:01.22. Batchelder took second place (1:03.49), while Schramm was third (1:04.28), and Granados was fourth (1:07.21). Fouts won the 500 free with a time of 5:00.10, narrowly outtouching Troyer in second at 5:01.84. Mike Nemeth finished fourth (5:20.84).
Barnes scored a victory in the 50 fly with his best time of the year at 26.08. Schramm took second place (26.76), while Paquin finished third (27.44). Belford closed out the individual events with a second-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:16.27. Highum finished third (4:34.56), with Chorpenning taking fourth place (4:36.56).
Wabash won the final relay of the night, the 200-yard freestyle. McGue, Miller, Adams, and Troyer finished with a time of 1:29.27.
The Little Giants are right back in action Saturday with a road trip to Kalamazoo College.
