Joel Paquin won the 200 freestyle Friday night in a dominating team effort for Wabash at Illinois Wesleyan.

Wabash Outswims IWU in Friday Road Victory

Wabash captured seven individual victories in addition to winning both relays in Friday night's 141-76 swimming and diving victory over Illinois Wesleyan University.
 
The Little Giants opened with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. Jack Belford, Zechariah Banks, Chris McGue, and Elliot Johns combined to finish in 1:37.25. Dakota Rhodes, Josh Bleisch, Clayton Highum, and Dan McCormick placed third with a time of 1:43.52.
 
Joel Paquin won the 200-yard freestyle by touching first in 1:48.96. Wyatt Tarter placed third with a time of 1:52.52. Arturo Granados won the 400 individual medley by trimming nearly eight seconds off his seed time, finishing in 4:32.53. Banks posted a win in the 100 butterfly (53.56), while Johns took third place (54.28). Chris Dabrowski picked up a victory in the 500 freestyle (4:59.70) with Rhodes grabbing third place (5:15.90).
 
Aaron Embree won the one-meter diving competition with 263.75 points. Max Von Deylen placed second by scoring 249.95 points. The duo also placed 1-2 on the three-meter board. Embree took first place with a score of 246.75, followed by Von Deylen's score of 242.70.
 
Tarter added a second-place finish in the 100 free to his efforts Friday. He finished in 50.80 just ahead of Johns in third place (51.42). Belford took second place in the 100 backstroke (57.56), while McCormick scored a second in the 100 breaststroke. Sam Colaiacova placed third in 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.55.
 
Wabash closed out the meet with victory in the 200 freestyle relay. Johns, Banks, Tarter, and McGue completed the relay in 1:26.96.
 
The Little Giants are back in action in less than 24, competing against Washington University-St. Louis Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Class of 1950 Natatorium for the team's final home meet of the season. The senior members of the team will be honored prior to the start of the meet.
