Wabash College freshmen
Sam Henthorn and
Chandler Steward combined for a time of 40:58.2 to place sixth at Thursday's Manchester University Hokum Karem.

The Hokum Karem originated at Wabash over 50 years ago. Legendary Little Giants coach J. Owen Huntsman created the event that partners two runners together, alternating loops over a one-mile circuit for a total of eight miles.

Henthorn and Steward averaged 5:07 per loop over the course, with Steward recording a time of 4:54 for his fastest individual circuit.

Hayden Baehl and
Robert Wunderlich III finished one spot behind Henthorn and Steward in seventh place with a combined time of 41:45.2.Â
Spencer Shank and
Steven Reidell posted a total time of 47:06.4 to finish 18th.
Trine University won the men's competition with a team score of 11 points. Manchester took second with 15. Wabash scored 25 points to take third place ahead of Huntington University in fourth with 27 points.

The Little Giants' will compete at the Indiana Intercollegiates race, scheduled for September 16 at Indiana University.
