LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sophomore
Johnathan Loney led the Wabash College cross country team at Saturday's 2025 Louisville Cross Country Classic, finishing in 27 minutes, 6 seconds over the 8,000-meter course at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Loney placed 187th overall in the deep men's silver division field that featured more than 400 runners from NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA programs across the country.
Freshman
Samuel Carpenter finished close behind in 27:16.8 for 208th place, followed by classmate
Jack Loftus, who crossed the line in 27:23.0 to take 219th.
Junior
Austin Jewell placed 274th with a time of 28:00.7, and sophomore
Sawyer Lewis completed the Little Giants' scoring five by finishing 258th in 28:47.7.
St. Bonaventure's Clay Peets won the individual title in 24:12.2. Otterbein won the team title with a score of 153. Mount Union placed second (155) with St. Bonaventure (209) taking third place.
Wabash will compete at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on October 18.
