"Tonight was a hard-fought meet where we just fell short," Wabash head coach Will Bernhardt said. "I am proud of how they fought until the end of the meet and gave 100 percent all the way until the finish. We had some terrific swims for this point in this point of the season and being unrested. A few of our guys had lifetime best times and most had season best times. We are performing great every day in practice and our times showed that today. The men are laser focused on the process and this outcome will help us prepare for the conference championship in February.
"Meets like that are certainly nerve wrecking but at the same time they are fun to be a part of. With so many lead changes and momentum swings it really shows how well our men were prepared to take this meet to the end. They constantly searched within themselves and supported each other to take the meet to the last relay. We will learn from this meet and be better from it when it comes conference time."
Wabash returns to the pool Saturday afternoon, competing against Rose-Hulman in a dual meet in Terre Haute, Indiana.
