Wabash distance runners turned in their best times of the season at the aptly named Friday Big Meet at Grand Valley State University.
The single-day meet featured 58 men's teams from all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA, including Little Giant runners
Hayden Baehl,
Aaron Tincher,
Sam Henthorn, and
John Kirts.Â
Baehl earned a pair of top-50 finishes in the 800-meter run and mile run. He finished 43rd in the 800 with a season-best time of 1:56.97. The senior completed the mile in 4:22.51 to win his heat and post a career-best time and top mark for the season in the event. Baehl finished 40th overall.
Tincher turned in his best career time and top time of the season in the 5,000 meters, completing the race in 15:24.90 to take 91st place. Henthorn won his heat of the 5,000 in 15:29.01 good for 100th place overall in a field of 186 finishers. Kirts placed second in his heat behind Tincher and 110th overall, finishing with an overall time of 15:33.10.
The remainder of the Wabash squad will compete Saturday at DePauw University beginning at 11 a.m.
