Wabash scored a total of 35.50 points on the first day of competition at the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held Friday at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The Little Giants are in fourth place in the team standings.

Colin Rinne scored eight team points for Wabash with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by crossing the line in 9:28.66.
Jonah Woods added to the team total with a fourth-place finish in the same event, completing the race in 9:39.31.
Luke Doughty placed sixth overall with a time of 9:44.81.

Aaron Tincher placed sixth in his first time competing in the 10,000-meter run at the college level. He finished the race in 32:56.29.

Gaven Hill picked up two points for the Little Giants with his seventh-place finish in the shot put with top distance of 13.31 meters (43 feet, 8 inches).
Daniel Howe produced a career-best distance of 13.29 meters (43 feet, 7.25 inches) to finish eighth overall.

Ballard Suiter tied for seventh place in the pole vault by clearing 3.50 meters (11 feet, 11.75 inches).

Jared Strehl just missed picking up points for Wabash in the long jump. He posted a top effort of 6.54 meters (21 feet, 5.5 inches) for a new career-best mark. However, his best jump came on his fourth attempt while Jacob Coplin jumped the same distance on his third attempt to claim eighth place, dropping Strehl to ninth.

Wabash advanced ten runners to Saturday's finals with top-eight performances in Friday's preliminary events.
RaShawn Jones turned in the best qualifying time in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.76.
Satchel Burton (15.51) and
Josh Wiggins (15.55; career-best time) will join Jones in the finals. Wiggins and Jones also earned places in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles with times of 56.81 and 57.76, respectively.

Austin Ellingwood posted the fastest time in the 400-meter dash, qualifying for the finals by finishing in 49.13. He also turned in a career-best time in the 200-meter dash at 22.19 to qualify for the finals.
Parker Redelman also earned a place in the finals field of the 400-meter dash by posting a time of 50.05.

Hayden Baehl ran a season-best time in the prelims of the 800-meter run. He finished in 1:57.88 to win his heat to earn a spot in Saturday's finals.

Ohio Wesleyan leads the team scoring with a total of 61 points. Oberlin is second with 43 points. DePauw is in third place with 41 points. Allegheny is fifth (29 points), followed by Kenyon, Wittenberg, and Denison tied for sixth place with 19 points apiece. Wooster sits in ninth place with 6.50 points.
