Wabash junior
Wesley Slaughter turned in the one of the fastest times of the year in the 100-yard freestyle as part of two top-two finishes at the 2019 Indiana Intercollegiates swimming and diving meet held at Purdue University. The Little Giants finished third out of ten teams made up of schools from NCAA Divisions I and III and the NAIA.

Slaughter raced to second place overall in the 100-yard freestyle by touching the wall in 46.30 for the second-fastest time by a Division III swimmer this season. His time was just off the mark of 45.66 turned in by Denison's Drake Horton at the Akron Zip Classic. Slaughter scored another second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, completing the race in 21.05 to move back into third place on the DIII top-times list.

Tanner Carver scored a third-place finish for the Little Giants in one-meter diving with a total score of 195.55 points. The Wabash foursome of
Justin Dusza,
Hunter Jones,
Anthony Mendez, and Slaughter placed fifth in the 200-yard medley relay with a combined time of 1:37.22. Jones placed sixth overall in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.40.

Caleb McCarty, and
Isaac Temores swam to sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a total time of 1:29.18.

Daren Glore placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle by completing the race in 5:01.37. Dusza finished the 100 backstroke in 56.01 to place 10
th, while McCarty added a 10
th-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 48.88.

Wabash scored a total of 173 points to finish third behind champion Purdue University with 661.5 points and runner-up Ball State University with a score of 492.5 points. Rose-Hulman finished fourth with 140 points, followed by Franklin (134), Valparaiso (106), and DePauw (84).

Wabash will compete against Rose-Hulman in a dual meet on Friday, October 25 in the Class of 1950 Natatorium beginning at 7 p.m.
