Wabash Moves Into Third Place After Day Two of the NCAC Championship Meet

Wabash picked up top-three finishes in two events Thursday evening to earn all-conference honors on the second day of the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. The Little Giants moved into third place in the team standings midway through the four-day meet.
 
Wabash began Thursday's finals with a third-place effort in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Wesley Slaughter, Justin Wallar, Kyle Louks, and Jan Dziadek combined for a season-best time of 1:22.82, finishing 2/10ths of a second off the school record in the event.
 
Senior Aaron Embree earned his third All-NCAC award in the one-meter diving event, placing third Thursday night with a score of 396.60. Gavin Rich scored 252.00 points to finish tenth overall in one-meter competition. Joshua Arambula added a 13th-place finish with a score of 210.55.
 
Slaughter earned a place in the A Final of the 50-yard freestyle and placed seventh overall with a time of 20.81. Ben Klimczak placed 27th overall with his time of 22.09 in the C Final of the 50 free.
 
Dziadek scored 24 team points with a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:59.24. Hunter Jones placed 15th in the B Final by finishing in 1:56.66. Dusza turned in a time of 1:59.96 in the C Final to finish 24th overall.
 
Looks picked up another 24 points with his ninth-place finish in the A Finals of the 500-yard freestyle. He completed the race in 4:46.92. Wallar scored a 13th-place finish in the B Final with a time of 4:45.23. Chris Dabrowski finished one spot back in 14th place at 4:45.53, with Ryan Sacco finishing in 15th place at 4:46.57.
 
Wabash jumped two spots into third place with a total score of 341 points, trailing Denison in first place with 714 points and second-place Kenyon with a total of 559 points. DePauw sits two points back in fourth place with a score of 339. Ohio Wesleyan is fifth with 292 points, followed by Wooster (282), Allegheny (237), Wittenberg (210), Oberlin (180), and Hiram (88).
 
Day three begins with prelims of the 200-yard medley relay taking place Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Trumball Aquatic Center at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Swimmers will compete in the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke on Friday. The finals begin at 6 p.m.
