Max Bigler sits in second place and junior
Ballard Suiter is third after five events of the decathlon at the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Multi-Events Meet held at Oberlin College on Saturday.

Bigler scored a total of 3,015 points in his first career decathlon. The freshman scored 750 points in the 100-meter dash, added 546 points in the long jump, and picked up 398 points in the shot put. He completed the day with a score of 670 points in the high jump and a total of 651 points in the 400-meter dash.

Suiter is less than 100 points back in third place with a first-day score of 2,923 points. He earned 774 points in the 100-meter dash before adding 494 points to his score in the long jump. Suiter scored 480 points in the shot put, picked up another 520 in the high jump, then finished with a 655-point effort in the 400. Oberlin's Adriano Atallah leads after the first day with a total score of 3,494 points.

Hunter Baehl is sixth after the first day of competition. The junior scored a total of 2,831 points. The decathlon is the first event as part of the NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The top-three scorers after Sunday's final day of events will earn all-conference honors. Sunday's competition includes the 110-meter hurdles, the discus, pole vault, and javelin throw, and concludes with the 1500-meter run.

The remainder of the Wabash team used the weekend as a final tune-up for the conference meet, competing in Michigan at the 53
rd Edition of the GINA Relays at Hillsdale College. The 4x100-meter relay team of
Josh Wiggins,
Isaac Avant,
Brady Gossett, and
Leon Ivy raced to third place overall with a season-best time of 42.17.
Dominic Patacsil turned in the top time of the season in the 10,000-meter run, finishing in sixth place at 30:43.18 in the championship portion of the meet. Gossett produced the top time this season in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 11.13 to place 24
th out of 56 entries. Â

Wabash scored a total of nine points to finish tied for 12
th place out of 31 teams at the meet.

The NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships take place May 3-4 at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. The Little Giants finished second at last year's outdoor championship meet.
