Track and Field Wins Friday Night Engineer Invite

Wabash produced 20 top-five finishes to win Friday evening's Engineer Track and Field Invitational at Rose-Hulman.
 
The Little Giants scored a total of 132 points to outdistance Rose-Hulman in second place with 94 points. Kentucky Wesleyan finished in third place with a total of 63 points.
 
Josh Wiggins and Leo Warbington earned the top-two places in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles. Wiggins won the event by posting a personal-best time of 8.30 in the finals. Warbington also turned in his best career effort by finishing in 8.57 to capture second place.
 
Wiggins joined with Jose Franco, Juan Montenegro, and Tyler Ramsey to win the 4x200-meter relay. The foursome finished the race in 1:31.83. Montenegro and Ramsey were part of the Little Giants' winning 4x400-meter relay team. The duo were joined by Andrew Young and Jon Deem-Loureiro to finish the race in 3:29.45.
 
Keith Abramson and Clarke Criddell finished 1-2 in the 800-meter run. Abramson won the event with a season-best time of 1:59.69. Criddell placed second with a time of 2:00.09.
 
Young raced to second place in the 200-meter dash by finishing in 23.22. Warbington finished fourth with a time of 23.56. Montenegro turned in a time of 51.80 to place second in the 400-meter dash.
 
Luke Bender cleared 4.12 meters (13 feet, 6.25 inches) to place second in the pole vault. Ahmaud Hill tied for fourth place with a top height of 3.82 meters (12 feet, 6.25 inches).
 
Kamron Ferguson produced a career-best mark of 6.14 meters (20 feet, 1.75 inches) to earn a second-place finish in the long jump. Gianni Minor added a fifth-place finish with a top leap of 6.02 meters (19 feet, 9 inches). Minor added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a top effort of 11.73 meters (38 feet, 6 inches).
 
Brandon Peck turned in a career-best effort to place second in the weight throw with a top mark of 16.40 meters (53 feet, 9.75 inches). Kenny Coleman added a fifth-place with a career-best throw of 14.13 meters (46 feet, 4.25 inches).
 
Brandon English placed second overall in the shot put with a season-best distance of 14.57 meters (47 feet, 9.75 inches). Isaiah Campbell finished fourth with a top mark of 14.02 meters (46 feet).
Ethan Pine finished third in the mile run with a season-best time of 4:23.82. Ethan Hurt placed fifth in the finals of the 60-meter dash by crossing the finish line in 7.25.
 
Wabash will compete at DePauw University next Friday, February 7.
