Recent Wabash College graduate
Sam Henthorn has been named to the Academic All-District VII Men's Division III Cross Country/Track and Field Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Henthorn, a classics major with a 3.79 cumulative grade point average, was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year and added Indoor Track and Field Men's Distance Runner at the conference championship meet in February. He won the men's individual title at the 2019 NCAC Cross Country Championships in November to help Wabash finish second overall in the team standings. He became the second Wabash runner to win the NCAC title since the Little Giants joined the conference in 1999. Henthorn won both the men's 3,000- and 5,000-meter races at the indoor track and field conference championship meet. His efforts helped Wabash win the indoor title for the seventh time in 10 years.
The 2020 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA. Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 22-25.
