The Wabash College swimming and diving team scored nine first-place finishes out of 13 events to outdistance visiting Illinois Wesleyan University by a score of 143-75 in dual-meet competition at the Class of 1950 Natatorium.

The Little Giants turned in 23 top-three finishes overall en route to the victory.

Caleb McCarty captured the first win by finishing the 200-yard medley relay in 1:41.46 to take first place.

Jack Pendleton finished in third place with a time of 1:47.33

McCarty added an individual win in the 50-yard freestyle with a winning time of 21.98. Daniken placed third overall by finishing in 23.40.
Daren Glore took first place in the 200-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 1:45.94.
Ethan Johns placed second overall with a time of 1:46.38. Glore also won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:53.38. Johns scored a victory in the 100-yard freestyle with his time of 49.34.
Connor Craig was an eyelash behind in 49.45 to take second place overall.

Justice Wenz captured the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke, completing the race in 2:18.26. Bleisch finished in third place at 2:31.88.

Wabash divers
Thomas Gaines and
William Morris each scored wins on the boards Friday evening. Morris won the one-meter event with a score of 223.20 while Gaines placed second with a total of 143.05 points. Gaines won the three-meter competition with 194.35 points ahead of Morris in second place with 168.95 points.

The Little Giants closed out the meet by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Craig, Glore, Johns, and McCarty combined for a time of 1:27.60. Nicholson,
Nicolas Hakimian,
Adam El-Khalili, and
Jack Pendleton finished in third place with a total time of 1:33.89.

El-Khalili took second place in the 1000 freestyle by finishing in 10:58.08. Nicholson scored a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.49. Craig and Wenz placed second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard individual medley. Craig placed second with a time of 2:07.49. Wenz finished in 2:07.51 to place third overall. Comeyne took second place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.29. Hakimian finished in 2:17.08 to place third in the event.

The victory was the second dual-meet win for Wabash this season. The Little Giants complete the home portion of their season with a dual meet against Eastern Illinois University on Friday, January 21. The team will honor its senior class members prior to the opening event of the meet.
