Wabash College senior Jack Davidson has been named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III Men's Player of the Week for the period ending January 2.
 
Davidson, a 6-1 guard from Fishers, Indiana, averaged 29 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in victories over Anderson University and Oberlin College. He scored 33 points while shooting 62.5 percent from the field in the Little Giants' 96-84 home victory over Anderson on December 21. Davidson connected on 10-of-16 shots from the field and grabbed seven rebounds. He also handed out a game-high six assists.
 
The senior guard tallied a game-high 25 points and 13 rebounds in a 75-74 win at Oberlin on December 30. Davidson matched his career-best mark with his 13 boards and also recorded four assists in the game. His rebounding totals helped Wabash hold a 46-34 advantage on the boards over Oberlin.

Davidson earned North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week honors on Monday. 
 
Each Tuesday, the USBWA selects men's and women's Division III National Players of the Week. The program has resumed after a one-season hiatus and this is the seventh season that the USBWA will recognize national players of the week from Division III.
 
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association was formed in 1956 at the urging of then-NCAA Executive Director Walter Byers. With some 900 members worldwide, it is one of the most influential organizations in college basketball. It has selected an All-America team since the 1956-57 season.
