Thomas Gaines turned in career-best runs with top-30 finishes to guide the Wabash cross country team to a fifth-place finish out of 23 teams at Friday's Jenna Strong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College.

Curnutt scored an 18th-place finish overall, finishing the 8,000-meter loop with a career-best time of 26:04.6. Gaines completed the race in a career-best time of 26:34.4 to finish 29th out of 247 competitors.

Justin Santiago added a career-best time of 27:24.5 to score a 58th-place finish.
Will Neubauer placed 68th overall after finishing in 27:33.8.
Jacob Sitzman turned in his career-best time at 27:35.7 to finish 69th for the Little Giants.
Aidan Makled placed 102nd with a time of 28:30.1.
Matthew Meyer added a 137th-place finish by completing the race in 29:34.0

Wabash placed seventh as a team with a total score of 227 points. Wilmington won the team competition with a total of 67 points.

The Little Giants return to action on Saturday, October 29, at the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
