Wabash Scores Two All-NCAC Performances On Day Two of Championship Meet

Wabash turned in two all-conference performances on the second day of the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships held at Denison University.
 
The Little Giants opened Thursday evening's finals with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Caleb McCarty, Connor Craig, Ethan Johns, and Isaac Temores produced the all-conference effort with a combined time of 1:23.32.
 
The foursome of Justin Dusza, Temores, Craig, and Johns scored another third-place finish in the final event of the evening. The quarter finished the 400-yard medley relay in a combined time of 3:27.61 to pickup all-conference honors along with an additional 60 team points.  
 
Daren Glore added 26 points to the Wabash team total with a seventh-place finish in the "A" final of the 500-yard freestyle by completing the race in 4:37.30. Ryan Sacco qualified for the "C" final and finished 19th overall with a time of 4:55.65. Adam El-Khalili placed 22nd in the "C" final by finishing in 5:04.51.
 
Dusza captured 14th place in the "B" final of the 200-yard individual medley. The senior posted a time of 1:56.45. Freshman Justice Wenz also earned a place in the "B" final and finished in 1:59.32 to capture 17th place overall.
 
McCarty turned in the top time in the "B" final of the 50-yard freestyle. He finished the race in 20.92 to take 10th place. Craig placed 14th in the "B" final with a time of 21.50. Johns also competed in the "B" final for the Little Giants and finished in 17th place with a time of 21.64. Nicolas Hakimian earned a spot in the "C" final of the 50 free and finished in 20th place at 21.59. Temores also swam in the "C" final and finished in 21st place with a time of 21.68.
 
Wabash remains in third place in the team standings after the second night of competition. The Little Giants finished the evening with a total of 332 points, trailing Denison University with 732 points and Kenyon with 568. DePauw is in fourth place with a score of 312 points. Wooster (309.5), Allegheny (239.5), Oberlin (232), Ohio Wesleyan (168), Hiram (148), and Wittenberg (129) complete the Thursday scoring results.
 
Friday's preliminary round begins at 9:30 a.m. from the Trumball Aquatics Center. The finals start at 6 p.m. Friday evening.
