2022 NCAA DIII Men's Basketball Semifinal and Championship Game Information

Wabash and Elmhurst meet in the second semifinal game of the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Little Giants advance through their tournament bracket with wins over Berry (91-79), Emory (87-86), Williams (73-59), and Illinois Wesleyan (81-75). The Little Giants are on a school-record 24-game winning streak, eclipsing the mark of 19 consecutive victories by the 1981-82 Wabash basketball team. That 19-game streak ended with the Little Giants claiming the 1982 NCAA DIII national championship.

Wabash (28-3) scores an average of 89.8 points per game, fifth-best among Division III programs. The Little Giants' 51.6 field goal shooting percentage is second only to Yeshiva's 53 percent. Wabash is third in the nation in three-point field goal shooting, hitting 40.3 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc.

Jack Davidson, recently named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America Team and the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team, leads Wabash and ranks third in the nation with a 25.7 points per game scoring average. The all-time leading scorer in Wabash basketball history with 2,433 points brings a complete game to court with 5.9 rebounds- and four assists-per-game averages. He leads the nation in three-point field goal percentage (49.0 percent), free throws made (200), and total three-point field goals made (122).

Tyler Watson adds a 16 points-per-game average to the offensive mix for Wabash. He averages 5.4 assists and rebounds per game for the Little Giants. Watson earned D3hoops.com All-Region 7 honors and was also a CoSIDA Academic All-America selection. He set a Wabash single-game record earlier this year by handing out 14 assists in a win over Hiram.  Kellen Schreiber shoots 68.7 percent from the field, the fifth-best shooting percentage among Division III men's basketball players this season. Schreiber averages 15.2 points and 5.3 rebounds a game.

Junior Ahmoni Jones is the fourth starter with a double-figures scoring average for Wabash at 14 points per game. He is the leading rebounder for the Little Giants, snaring 6.2 carroms per contest. Jones shoots 46 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from three-point range.

Elmhurst (26-6) won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Bluejays defeated Washington and Jefferson (95-70), Pomona-Pitzer (76-70), Calvin (79-77), and Mary Hardin-Baylor (87-84 in overtime) to advance to Friday's semifinal game against Wabash. Elmhurst is led by D3hoops.com and NABC First Team All-Region selection Jake Rhode. The senior guard averages 17.6 points a game. He owns the Bluejays' all-time assists record with 505 and has scored 2,098 points in his career.

Lavon Thomas averages 12.2 points a contest. Wesley Hooker adds an 11.5 points-per-game scoring average to the offensive mix. Hooker and Jonathan Zapinski share top-rebounding honors with each player averaging 5.4 boards a game.

The winner of Friday's second semifinal will play the winner of the first semifinal contest between Randolph-Macon and Marietta at 5 p.m. in Saturday's NCAA DIII Championship Game.
