Max Bigler earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors with a third-place finish on Sunday's final day of the decathlon to open the 2022 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Giovonni Zappala place fifth and sixth overall, respectively.

Bigler entered the final day of competition in fourth place. He scored a total of 2,443 points in the 110-meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500-meter run to tally a ten-event total score of 5,611 points. Ooostman scored a total of 5,486 points over the two days of competition to place fifth overall after scoring 2,245 points on Sunday. Zappala placed sixth overall with a total of 5,384 points. He scored 2,505 in Sunday's five events.

Denison's Jacob Brown won the decathlon with a total of 6,092 points. David Jansen from DePauw finished in second place with a score of 5,788. Â

The three top-six finishes for Wabash provided the Little Giants with a total of 13 team points heading into the remaining schedule of events at the 2022 NCAC Championships scheduled to take place this Friday and Saturday at Oberlin College. Denison scored a total of 10 points while DePauw picked up eight points. Allegheny (5 points), Wittenberg (2 points), and Wooster (1 point) complete the team scoring heading into Friday's events.
