Oostman scored a total of 3,241 points through the first five events of the decathlon which included the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400-meter dash. Bigler finished the day with a total of 3,168 points. Zappala scored 2,879 points through the first five events.

Jacob Brown from Denison leads the nine competitors with a score of 3,254 points. The decathlon is the first event that is part of the 2020 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The remaining events will take place next Friday and Saturday at Oberlin College.

A handful of the remaining members of the Wabash track and field team competed at the Sycamore Open at Indiana State University on Saturday.
Leo Warbington scored one of three team points for Wabash at the meet by finishing in eighth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.23.
Stuart Anker added two points to the Little Giants' total by finishing in seventh place in the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 1:00.54.
