Red Pack Ready To Race Into 2022 Cross Country Season

The Wabash College cross country team opens its 2022 season Saturday morning. The Little Giants compete at the Grizzly Invitational hosted by Franklin College at the Blue River Cross Country course in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Wabash returns All-North Coast Athletic Conference sophomore Brayden Curnutt, who placed 11th in last year's conference championship race. Sophomore Will Neubauer and junior Thomas Gaines are coming off strong track and field showings in distance events in the spring of 2022.

The opening race this weekend will be a good early test for the Red Pack, with all of the competitors racing over 5,000 meters leading up to the standard 8,000-meter cross country distance of a regular meet. Wabash moves up to the 8,000-meter distance in its next scheduled race at the John McNichols Invitational held Saturday, September 17, at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Little Giants compete in two more events leading up to the 2022 NCAC Championships on October 29.
